Youth, family and friends are invited to a spell-binding night with wizards and dragons, singing and dancing, adventure and laughter, scouts and guides.

The 73rd Melbourne Gang Show proudly presents “The Guardian of the Stars”

Story synopsis: 
Every 100 years, the Leaders from each of the four kingdoms join together for the Festival of the Star. Usually a joyous occasion, this year an evil force has threatened to destroy the star and strip the kingdoms of their power. A local boy with no credentials, how can he possibly protect the star from dark magic? With a little help from some new friends, our hero makes a brave attempt to prevent the star from falling into evil hands.

You’d be forgiven for thinking scouting is all about the outdoors, but there’s so much more to us than that! Melbourne Gang Show is an annual musical theatre performance – written and performed by youth. Established in 1953, it is a training activity of Scouts Victoria and Girl Guides Victoria, providing young people with practical experiences of performance and stagecraft.

To take advantage of the bargain group ticket price, or for the Venturer/Rover show and party; order and pay for your ticket(s) before 15/05/2025 to ensure we can secure seats closer to the action.

  • Sunday 29 June @ 2:00 pm – $22 group booking
  • Friday 4 July @ 7:30 pm – $22 group booking
  • Friday 4 July @ 7:30 pm Venturer night (show & party) $30

The Fine Print:

  • All performances are at Besen Centre, 87-89 Station Street, Burwood. 
  • There is a free 20 minute behind-the-scenes sneak peek before each matinee performance. Be at the theatre foyer at 1:00 pm.
  • Bring the whole family, this isn’t just a youth member event!
  • Paying via the Moonee Valley link adds you to our group booking. When we have enough bookings for a Group Booking, we then confirm with Melbourne Gang Show and forward you your seat ticket.
  • The show runs from 27 June to 5 July, 2025.  If you would like to attend but are not available on the 2 group booking dates, then you can purchase tickets directly https://www.gangshow.org/.  
  • If booking directly, please attribute the ticket to one or more of the Moonee Valley District youth members performing in the show (they win prizes for selling tickets!)
  • You can book tickets right up to a couple of days prior to the performance, however – tickets may have already been sold out and you will not be sitting close to other Moonee Valley Scouts watching the show.
